Style Guide:

JNR follows bibliographic conventions as set out in the Style Guide of the Modern Humanities Research Association (MHRA).

Following best-practice in electronic publishing, all bibliographic references should follow the 'author-date' system. This is further set out in Section 11.4 of the MHRA Styleguide. In short, each essay is to be followed by an alphabetised bibliography. References in the essay should be given in parentheses, using an abbreviated form of the full reference in the bibliography, and indicating page numbers. Use of endnotes should be kept to an absolute minimum.
